One of the first things to get our heads around when creating a website is design. What image does the client want to portray? For speed, and so our client could catch a glimpse of the finished product up front, we used a professional website template. Clients want to know what their website will look like. What they quickly realize is that design is actually secondary.

In other words, design is subjective, but the functional needs, the content layout, and the navigation of a website are not.  It’s these aspects that are far more critical to the success/failure when creating a website, and it’s these that take the most amount of time. Of course, a website should be attractive and support the site’s intent – that’s a given. But design can always be tweaked.

In the end, two weeks later, the client, and their board of directors, were very satisfied.
